my favourite is definately Lucy. I know you're not supposed to like the main characters, and I usually don't, but this is just one case where I really really do. ( :
Perhaps we could discuss the film in this thread, (not just talk about our favourite characters)
For instance, how do you think the film did on keeping the christain message of Narnia? I think they did a pretty good job of it.. althought it wasn't emphasized.
One think I don't like about the film is the credit song. Here are the lyrics for it:
Alanis Morissette - Wunderkind Lyrics
Oh perilous place walk backwards toward you Blink disbelieving eyes chilled to the bone Most visibly brave no aprehended gloom First to take this foot to virgin snow
I am a magnet for all kinds of deeper wonderment I am a wunderkind oh oh oh oooooh And I lift the envelope pushed far enough to believe this I am a princess on the way to my throne
Destined to serve, destined to roam
Oh ominous place spellbound and unchild-proofed My least favorite chill to bare alone Compatriots in place they'd cringe if I told you Our best back-pocket secret our bond full-blown
I am a magnet for all kinds of deeper wonderment I am a wunderkind oh oh oh oooooh I am a pioneer naive enough to believe this I am a princess on the way to my throne
Destined to seek, destined to know
Most beautiful place reborn and blown off roof My view about-face whether great will be done
I am a magnet for all kinds of deeper wonderment I am a wunderkind oh oh oh oooooh I am a ground-breaker naive enough to believe this I am a princess on the way to my throne
I am a magnet for all kinds of deeper wonderment I am a wunderkind oh oh oh oooooh I am a Joan of Arc and smart enough to believe this I am a princess on the way to my throne
Destined to reign, destined to roam Destined to reign, destined to roam Destined to reign, destined to roam Destined to reign, destined to roam ---end
I don't know about you all, but this song really bothers me. It doesn't fit with the message of the film if you ask me. The film is really about Aslan, not this weired 'I' person on the way to their throne... and I especially don't like the Joan of Arc part. What do you all think?

Yes, that song does seem to miss the point a bit. Even if it was to look at the story from the point of view of the characters, it doesn't really get it. The part that goes:
Compatriots in place they'd cringe if I told you Our best back-pocket secret our bond full-blown
doesn't seem in line either. I mean, Aslan coming is good news! The world may not believe it, but it is still not a secret to be kept totally silent, just as the good news of Jesus is wondeful but not marvelous/incredible enough to be hidden. (if you know what I mean) It's amazing and hard to believe at first, but that doesn't mean we hide the truth!
About the "on the way to my throne" part- Yes, we are children of God and therefore princesses, etc, but that is not the focus. We are children of GOD. He is the focus. And nothing we did brought us there - it was all him.
A follower of the real Aslan

I am reserving my vote for clarification. Edmond is my favorite in the series, but not in this book /film. Do I vote for LWW only or for the series?
I do not like the song either. The "I" almost seems to be proud and beepy about her destiny.
Also, in the movie, I found Peter to be a coward. Sure, he killed the wolf, but he just stood there and let the wolf jump onto his sword. I the book he actually fought the wolf. Sure he did not know how to fight, but he was no coward about it.

Well, they are already working on Prince Caspian. It should come out some time late next year. As far as I know, they are going to keep making the films in order as long as the money and interest keep coming. ( :
Oh, and did you all know that one of Lewis' step sons has been 'looking over their shoulder' so to speek on the making of the film?

wait... Prince Caspian isn't the next book- it's The Horse and His Boy. I HAVE memorized the order. I've read the books like 7 times already The order is: 1. The Magician's Nephew 2. The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe 3. The Horse and His Boy 4. Prince Caspian 5. The Voyage of the Dawn Treader 6. The Silver Chair 7. (and finally) The Last Battle I know that maybe tha actors are getting older but i hope that they make the movies but release them in the proper order (above:)) If they put them out right after they make them, the story won't make any sense. Just my humble opinion though:) Oh, by the way, michael, i love your avitar, and megan, love your banner!

Well, they didn't make the magician's nephew, and of that I am some what thankful. I don't think I would have gone to see it. How about you guys?
Did you guy's notice that in the LWW, the witch's dwarf was named Nikibrink. But that is the name of the red haired dwarf in Prince Caspian. I wonder what they will name him in the movie?

oh, I didn't notice that.. you're right.
About the order, check this site out: www.aslan.demon.co.uk/narnia.htm
I am in the camp that says wether Lewis cared or not, I think that The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe should be read first, because it is the best and obviose introduction to the series, and that I don't care how you read them after that. ( :
But check the site out... it makes everything much clearer.
